Grind + Brew Guide
Every bag is roasted to order and sold as a 12 oz bag. Pick your grind when you add a coffee to your cart — this guide matches each grind we offer to the brewer it is made for.
The four grinds
Whole Bean
You grind at home, right before brewing.
Choose Whole Bean if you own a grinder. Grinding just before brewing lets you match the grind to whatever brewer you are using that day.
Drip
Drip machines and pour-over brewers.
A medium grind for paper-filter brewing: water passes through the grounds evenly without stalling or rushing past them.
Espresso
Espresso machines.
A fine grind for pressurized brewing, where hot water is forced through a compacted puck of coffee.
Cold Brew
Cold-brew steeping.
A coarse grind for long, cool immersion — the grounds steep in cold or room-temperature water for hours, then strain out.
A few basics
Wrong grind, wrong cup: too fine for your brewer and the water stalls; too coarse and it rushes through under-extracted. When in doubt, start from the brewer — the guide above follows the brewer, not the bag.
Keep opened bags sealed and away from heat and light. Whole Bean stays freshest when you grind only what you are about to brew.
